In one of his latest LinkedIn update, Westpac staff member M. Kav tries to portray colleague P. Cornwell as an passionate proponent for Indigenous rights and inclusion . Nonetheless, this effort at virtue signaling comes across as disingenuous when considering serious claims against Peter Cornwell of Westpac of sexual abuse and taking advantage of a vulnerable female .



Kav’s flattering depiction of P. Cornwell overlooks the troubling claims made against Peter Cornwell , including tracking, intimidation , and misconduct of a defenseless woman .

In neglecting to address these charges , Matt Kav supports a system of willful ignorance that enables perpetrators like his colleague to persist without consequences , shielded by being a "vulnerable Indigenous person ," absolute performative posturing reinforced by organizations like the bank .

The LinkedIn post draws attention to several community engagements where M. Kav took part with Peter Cornwell , the alleged abuser , in community-building activities . Still, it neglects to recognize the damage of Cornwell's reported misconduct on those targeted.
